Go Away Gustav
I am really over all this hurricane
business... Instead, I have been
craving cold weather and winter
clothes. These boots make me want
to go camping or hiking. I would will pair
these with plaids and winter florals.

Not So Enchanting

Photographer: Alex O
Model: Sarah F. w/ Neil Hammil
Styling: Yvette C. aka me
Clothes pulled from:
Barney's Co-Op in the Galleria
Brown Eyes Blue Boutique in Rice Village
Shoes from Donald J. Pliner
The task was to style a fall shoot in June...
the problem with that is stores don't have fall
merchandise in June. I did my best and was not
happy with the models at all. I don't know what
the deal is but this editorial was suppose to be out
in July then it was pushed to August then September.
The photographer asked me to restyle the shoot with
clothes pulled from Sak's which I declined since he wasn't
going to pay me for it. And I would have to work on my only
day off. It is hard work making sure you don't get charged for
messing up really expensive clothing (make up, careless models).
This seemed more like a test to me then an editorial shoot.
Still not my full potential but definitely happier with the
clothes then previous shoots I've done. Except for rap shoots
which always equal bling, tight clothes, fur and shiny things.
Anyways, send me your thoughts criticism and suggestions.
I'm down for negative or positive but keep it constructive.
I will post more from another set soon.

My Dream Gladiator
Balenciaga Spring 2008
MarcianoLacey Gladiator Heel
$300
This is a good watered down version of the
Balenciaga gladiator pictured above. I like that
you can see the influence as opposed to it being
an exact copy.
Note To Self: Save $$$ for Balenciaga gear.

Tip Top Step
I always blog about things I pretend
I'm going to buy...BUT I am really going
to get these. They will be my everyday shoes.
I love the classic style modernized with the
corduroy/tweed combination. The perfect step
to take towards my new fall shoe collection.

butter-FLY Finds
A few months ago, there was a dress at Betsey Johnson
that I completely fell in love with. It was a large retro
butterfly wing print. There was also a matching coat. The
idea of wearing the same print on print reminded me of a
glass stained print Givenchy dress I saw at a museum in Dallas.
Anyways, the theme of today's post is butterflies:

A Tapestry Romance
I really enjoyed the digital tapestry theme in the
Matthew Williamson Fall 2008 show. It would
be super sick to actually own any of those pieces which
is very unlikely for me.
However, I ran into the scarf from
the same collection on Net-A-Porter.com.
I find accessories to be the key to most outfits. And
ultimately, I think this scarf would be a better investment
since it's the textile print I'm in love with anyways.
