butter-FLY Finds
A few months ago, there was a dress at Betsey Johnson
that I completely fell in love with. It was a large retro
butterfly wing print. There was also a matching coat. The
idea of wearing the same print on print reminded me of a
glass stained print Givenchy dress I saw at a museum in Dallas.
Anyways, the theme of today's post is butterflies:

Lead Pipe Silk
There is no doubt that Old Navy has stepped
up their game in the past year. This little silk
number is one of those pieces you would never
expect to find in an Old Navy rack. I have been
so into one step dressing (e.g. dresses, jumpers)
and with the simple change of accessories this can
be dressed up or down. I love the feeling of silk
against my skin and this would be such a refreshing
addition to any girls wardrobe.
Silk Ruffle Tiered Dress
$29.50 Old Navy
My tip to the girls is to avoid those drapey dresses...
you know the ones from Forever 21 made of 100% Rayon.
They tend to get real nasty after one wear. I am so over disposable
clothing and have been investing in classics or statement pieces.
Save your money for timeless pieces you can rework every year.

Oh and check out this book:
A Rare Breed of Love
a great read - and it also shows
how awful puppy mills are.

Old Navy Is New Again
Old Navy Canvas Wedge $34.50
I can't wait for it to get warmer and dryer
because these are going to be my every day
shoes come the sun and a pedicure.
Thank you Old Navy.

Balenciaga Inspired Finds
It is no secret that I am a huge Balenciaga lover. Nicolas Ghesquière has
stolen a huge chunk of my heart that I will never get back. The Fall 2007
collection was so memorable and inspiring. And it is no surprise that I've
been seeing so many Balenciaga inspired pieces everywhere.
Balenciaga Fall 2007
However, it was a surprise coming from Old Navy. There are
numerous pieces with tribal prints and wild colors. Some can been
seen as tacky but it largely depends on the person wearing it.
This dress for example... I'm not a fan of the flowers on it but I love
the rest of the print. I would let that slide though since wrap dresses
are universally flattering. I need to check it out in stores. It looks fun.
Tie Front Wrap Dress Old Navy $29.50
This one would look so good with a tan, sun, and the ocean.
It would be perfect for city life with the correct shoes and a modern
cropped jacket or cardigan.
Braided-Strap Empire Dress Old Navy $35.oo
I would use this as inspiration for the next two tops.
Since the print is so strong and wild. Down play it with some
modern and elgant pieces. I love the idea of these prints peaking
out of a Chanel inspired tweed coat.
Keyhole Top Old Navy $15.00
Mix-Print Henley Tank Old Navy $14.50
I am a huge fan of ethnic prints so I am excited at these prices and variety.
It just so fun to dress up in and make different outfits happen.
Old Navy, FTW!

Style On A Budget: Old Navy Chic
I randomly checked the Old Navy site and was surprised to find some
really cute things. We can thank Old Navy's new creative director,
Todd Oldham, for the sophisticated and fresh styles offered.
The following items can translate from casual work attire to fun party outfits.
Wrap-Front Shirts $24.50
This shirt is universally flattering for all figures. The deep V elongates
the neck and body giving the illusion of height especially when paired
with a great pair of heels.
Double-Ruffle Tops $26.50
This blush colored top is very sophisticated. You should not accessorize the neck
given that there is so much detail already going on. I would suggest a bold
bracelet or plenty of bangles.
Trapeze Shift Dress $19.75
You can't go wrong with a little black dress especially when it is a classic silhouette
such as this trapeze dress. This dress will work year round depending on how you
accessorize. There are countless ways to accessorize whether you use jewelry, scarves
or a killer pair of heels.
