Poor Woman's Balenciaga

THE Balenciaga:

MY Balenciaga:

I love Balenciaga inspired pieces... mainly because
they are the only ones I can afford. This is a softer
version of the structured power shift introduced a
little over a year ago. I like how they kept the idea
without exactly ripping it off unlike some "designers."
*COUGH* Kenley *COUGH COUGH*
I can't help but want this dress for the holidays and
life necessities. I will look into owning this ASAP

My Dream Gladiator

Balenciaga Spring 2008

Marciano
Lacey Gladiator Heel
$300

This is a good watered down version of the
Balenciaga gladiator pictured above. I like that
you can see the influence as opposed to it being
an exact copy.

Note To Self: Save $$$ for Balenciaga gear.

Kicking It Mondrian Style

I am not a big fan of dunks but I know
if I saw these on someone I would melt a little.

INSPIRATION:

Piet Mondrian
Composition with Yellow, Blue, and Red, 1921

Nike SB Dunk Low Piet Mondrian

Also, with the passing of YSL, we will continue
to see loads and loads of Mondrian inspired fashions.

Summer Flare

The weather in Texas is getting crazy hot.
Luckily, I have successfully checked off my
list of summer necessities, which included:

Sun Glasses
Cut-off Denim Shorts
Boat Shoes
Perfect Red Flats
Sunblock
Canvas Wedge

And I can't forget the perfect bathing
suit. Here are my top four summer picks.

Chanel Spring 2007
I remember wanting this so
bad when it first came out.

Retro Hightwaist Bikini
Top: $24.99
Bottom: $27.99
Victoria's Secret
Sweet!!!! I want the bottoms in black and
the top could be like a neon retro floral print.

Chanel Spring 2007

Retro One-piece
Victoria's Secret $51.99

I like this one more than the
Chanel one. The cut is flawless.

Polkadot Highwaist Bikini
Top: $31
Bottom: $28
Victoria's Secret
With a big red flower in your hair! So Dita!

Carmen Marc Valvo Shirred One-piece
Victoria's Secret $117
Quite possibly the most flattering
bathing suit in the world.

These are all flattering to any figure so work it!

Prada For Almost Nada

I was at the mall yesterday when something
so pleasing yet disturbing caught my eye.
It's no secret that floral is the IT print and
trend of the season. The window display at Express
is what made me stop and stare.

Obviously reminded me of the 2008 Prada Resort Collection .

All of the Prada Collections this Spring have been making
me crazy. So it was pretty awesome to find something so
exactly similar!

I dont tend to think of Express as being so fashion forward and I looked
at other stuff on thie site... pretty cheesy club gear and work basics. I hope
they don't do well so I can get one on sale ;)

Silk Strapless Dress in Midnight Roses
$128.00 Express.com

This is the one I want, if any... Loving
the silhouette and retro rose print.
Birthday Dress or Half my Ticket to L.A.? Hmmm...

Unauthorised Burberry Buttons

Design: Tobias Wong
Client: Self Manufacture
Date: 1999

Tobias handed out hundreds of these pirate Burberry plaid pins at events around NYC. “A year later, in spring 2000, Burberry themselves caught sight of this ’street trend’ and adapted them into their advertising campaign. The buttons were visible in fashion magazines, billboards, and catalogs - a knock-off of a knock-off”.
