Dazed & Glazed

Beetle and Flor is a Brooklyn based
designer who hand casts (ethically obtained)
animal skulls in porcelain. I love the pieces in
which she adds an 18K gold glaze to the teeth.
They are truly unique items that would make a
great gift for anyone special in your life.

I want this pretty
badly. I'm going to
invest in this for
sure. I can already
picture so many
great outfits!

Art Forms of Nature

Kunstformen der Natur is a book of lithographic
and autotype prints by German biologist Ernst Haeckel.
Here are some inspirational images from it.

This is also a reminder for me to get this book.

It's All About the Benjamin... Cho

I basically try to blog about things or ideas to reference
back to. I really liked Benjami Cho's Spring 2008 collection.
It wasn't anything too out of the ordinary but I really liked
the details and idea of it. I am a sucker for a beautiful silhouette
and the right fabric.

The concept to this design is so simple yet to
work fabric into doing that is not an easy task.
That blouse would be such a nice addition to any
wardrobe particularly mine.

I love the detailing and cut of those
pants. The rope detail is really interesting.

And I'm always such a nerd for stuff like this:

So love how the ribbons tie the
Agate pieces together.

In Geological Fashion

Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated with gems, rocks, and minerals.
I had a huge collection of petrified wood, fossils, minerals, and gems. Every year
in elementary school I would do the science fair and just display these beautiful
objects! Naturally, this led to my love of jewelry, as well.

I was always fascinated by the color and unique prints on every piece.
Each piece was your own to cherish forever. I was so happy to see that Etro
took inspiration from the mineral Agate for Spring 2008.

Agate is not just something beautiful to look at but it
is believed to have a variety of powers. It is pretty fascinating stuff.

If you are ever iffy about a certain color or a combination. Always look
to nature... if it happens in nature then it definitely works in fashion. So
don't be afraid of bright color combinations for Spring! Check out the rest
of the Etro collection for more color inspirations!
